Blessing of the graves: Next Saturday June 21st. Blessing of the graves in Streete Parish will take place starting at Streete Cemetery at 5 Pm Coolamber 5.30, Boherquill, with mass in the new cemetery at 6 Pm. We ask that you remind your family and relations of the deceased to attend. It would also be a nice gesture if people could donate to the upkeep of the cemeteries, to which volunteers do a great job every year. You are invited to call into the Parish Park afterwards for a cup of tea and catch up with neighbours and families who attend the blessing.

Deepest sympathies: are expressed to Nora Moran, Rath, Streete on the sad passing of her Father Andy O’ Connor Clonwhelan, Edgeworthstown. Andy passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family. Predeceased by his father Andrew and mother Nora, brothers Sean, Peter and Michael, sisters Dympna and Noreen, son-in-law Philip. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Bernadette, daughters Mary and Nora, son Andrew, grandchildren Shane, Niall, Ethan, Robert, Heather, Katherine and Charlie, sisters Rosie, Margo and Mary, brother Arthur, son-in-law Joe, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives, and a wide circle of neighbours and friends. May his gentle soul rest in heavenly peace.

Streete Vintage Club: remind you our annual vintage show weekend is coming up soon from June 27th to 29th. We kick off the Weekend with social dancing on Friday night at 9pm with music by the legend of Country music Stuart Moyles. Admission €10. On Saturday 28th we will have our first annual all vehicle, run with registration in the hall from 3pm and run leaving at 4pm sharp. Routes will be posted on Facebook next week. Sunday 29th is show day, gates open to general public from 12 with live music on the field by Carragh Lynch, Lauren McRory and the fantastic Patrick Feeney & Band. 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of Volkswagen cars in Ireland. Together with our main sponsor Mullingar Autos we'll have a special display of Volkswagen vehicles through the years. This will be completed with all the usual trade stands auto jumble, stone crushing displays, steam & stationary engines, thrashing and square baling demonstrations, food village and lots lots more. New to the show this year will be lawnmower racing by NILMRA. Spread the word.

Deepest sympathies: are expressed to Mary Dodd and Family Cornacausk, Streete on the very sad passing of her dear, husband, Robert. Robert passed away peacefully at his home in the care of his beloved family. Predeceased by his parents Sam and Lilly, brother Francis and granddaughter Lilly. Robert will be sadly missed and always remembered with love by his family, his wife and best friend Mary, daughter Jacqueline, sons Kevin and Simon, Kevin's partner Riina and Simon's wife Suzanne, his adored grandchildren Stephanie and her partner Stephen, Adam, Ava, Ali and David, his great-grandchildren Robyn and Rian, sister-in-law Winnie, nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of neighbours and friends. Active Retirement: Our next outing will be coming up shortly, it is proposed to visit Strokestown house and the Elphin Windmill and Farm Museum. Parish Park Development Plan: Our architects are proposing a public consultation on the first week in July. This will allow you to come view the plans and have your say in what you would like the development to look like. This Development is a shared vision and a roadmap that will guide us in securing future funding to enhance our community centre, sports field, and parkland for generations to come. It is now up on our Facebook page and on full view on our website streeteanddistrice.ie We ask that you take a look and feel free to leave a comment which will help us in the final consultation with our architects, as always you can call me on 087 1375222 to discuss further.

SECRET AUCTION: A Kerry jersey signed by two of the county's best players, the Clifford brothers (David and Paudie) will go under the hammer by, a silent auction shortly. This beautifully framed and sought-after item is a piece of Kerry history and a tribute to the extremely talented Clifford brothers If you would like to place a bid on the jersey we will have sealed envelopes in Murphy’s Crossroads Inn Lisryan. Pickleball: Has really taken off on Monday mornings at the community centre and proving to be a great way of meeting up with people. The game is suitable to all ages and enjoyed by our active retirement group so much they are asking you to come along and try a game. The game is noncompetitive, and any fitness level can take part, drop in have a look and try your hand and chat over a cup of tea afterwards. 10 until 11.30

Boherquill Ramblers: The Ramblers walked the Rathowen Bog Walk on Sunday 8 June 2025.On Sunday 22 June 2025 the Ramblers will visit Glasson. Cars will meet at 2pm at the Athlone end of the village. See boherquillramblers.ie for more information.
