Streete Parish Park Community Centre

Parish Park Development Plan

I am delighted to report after a long wait, our architects have had meetings with the council to progress the final plans and are now at the development support stage of the project. We will be in contact with all the clubs who use the pitches and community centre facilities over the coming weeks. This is a perfect opportunity for clubs to provide us with their views and support of the project. When this required information is collected a further meeting will take place with the council and from this full planning permission will be sought. if there is something you would like to bring to our notice feel free to call me in confidence: Kevin Brady on (087) 137 5222.

Community website and Centre Events Calendar

In April 2023 I announced my delight to report that Streete Parish Park community centre was one of 5 centres nationwide to receive a grant of €1000 from the Rise community fund. The foundation was so taken back by our community centre and what has been achieved by a rural community, they asked to use our centre as part of their future promotion of the fund. The fund which was set up by a Boston businessman to recognise community leaders and their communities, working to make real changes through advances in technology.

To advance the great work already done. I immediately started developing a website for the community centre and the parish as a whole. Please note, Websites can cost up to €25000 to build and this work has been done completely voluntary by myself and my good friend Chris, a website developer who has given untold time to this project completely free. This website has been up and running for some time now, and when complete will make it easier for you to pay for memberships, hall and pitch bookings, lotto etc., because your money and personal details are transacted it is necessary to preform continuous tests which can take up to 18 months to build in the background.

These tests are to prevent Website infections often called malware or scripts viruses—that exploit vulnerabilities to steal data, redirect users, or hijack server resources. The website has passed all its tests and safeguards and we can now focus on building a community centre calendar to help groups plan for events in the future and avoid clashes, support effective planning and minimise scheduling conflicts.
