Streete Vintage Club
We will hold our first indoor kids’ tractor run on December 28th in Streete Parish Park. Open to kids all ages with tractors, trikes, bikes etc etc. more info to follow next week.
Membership for 2026 is now due, please contact Club Secretary Niall Tully 0877688129 to arrange payment. All cheques to be made payable to "Streete Vintage Club" New members wanted all membership to be paid before January 1st.
Coolamber ICA Guild
The Irish Countrywomen’s Association. The ICA ladies meet up on the first Tuesday of every month in Streete Parish Park at 7 Pm, new members are always welcome to attend and become part of a welcoming and fun organisation which offers support, friendship, personal development, education, and lifelong learning. art crafts cooking, etc. or just want to meet new people. Boherquill Ramblers
Streete Parish Park held their Christmas Fair on Sunday 30 November 2025, so the Ramblers decided to meet nearby at Boherquill Church for a loop walk past the ruins of Coolamber Hall House and the old graveyard close by. The weather stayed dry for the duration of the short walk and enough time was left to call in to the Fair which was as busy and enjoyable as ever. On Sunday 14 December 2025 the Ramblers will meet at 1.30pm in the car park beside the Fire Station in Mullingar for a walk beside the Royal Canal. for more information.See boherquillramblers.ie
Community Centre
Development
The Parish Park Development plans have now past the final public consultation and viewing deadline of Friday 21st of November and will now proceed to the final stages. If any adjustments to the final drawings have to be made, they will appear on our website Streete and district.ie. We will leave the drawings up in the hallway of the community centre to allow visitors to our Handmade Christmas market next Sunday to look over. It would be good to hear their observations, and recommendations in case we overlooked anything. Kevin 087 1375222 all call’s taken in confidence.

Christmas Market: Christmas Market
Once again, this year’s Handmade Christmas Market was an outstanding success thanks to the wonderful ladies who organised the fair. The ladies tell me the total funds raised for their chose children’s charity. Bernardo’s is whopping €2614.45 They want to thank each and every one who support the raffle, made donations, and gave so generously. Well done.
Post Office Christmas Hours
A reminder all post offices will be closed from, 1 pm on Saturday, December 23rd Normal business hours on Thursday 28th and Friday 29th December. Normal business hours resuming on Tuesday 2nd of January. Last post: Letters and light parcels to USA December 11th England and Europe December 18th all local post in Ireland December 21st
Christmas Carol Service
For parishes of Streete, Rathowen will take place on Monday December 22nd in St Mary’s Church Rathowen at 7 Pm by candlelight. Refreshments served afterwards, all welcome.
Christmas Shoe Box appeal
Alison murphy is collecting gift filled shoeboxes for orphans and young children living in extreme poverty. If you would like to donate items that can be put in a box such as toothbrush, toothpaste and soap or copy books, pens, and pencils, hats and gloves and small cuddly toys. Please contact her on 0876894597. She is also looking for help to check boxes that have been donated in the Centre in Mullingar.
Rathowen NS Christmas Fair
The pupils and staff invite you to their annual fair and carol service on Friday 12th of December at 11 Am till 2 Pm demonstrations and lots of magical things happening on the day. Please support.

Sympathies
Deepest sympathies are expressed to the Murphy family, Lisryan on the sad passing of Rita O'Connor nee Geraghty, Castleisland Co. Kerry and formerly of Fermore, Streete. Peacefully at home in the presence and care of her loving family. She will be sadly, missed by her devoted husband John, her family adored grandchildren nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours, and many friends. May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

Condolences
Are expressed to the Carrigy family Ballinalee on the sad and tragic passing of Shane Carrigy, and the untimely passing of his father Michael. The Carrigy family have been supporters of our local community over many years providing an excellent bus service, Michael was a regular at our Bingo on Monday nights. To Shane’s wife, family, and extended family our thoughts are with you at this darkest time.

Social Dancing Thursday 18th December
A reminder to all our social dancing fans our next dance will run a week earlier due to Christmas day falling on our usual Friday. Next month we have an old favorite make a revisit. Sean Brennan from Lanesborough. Sean is always a welcoming voice and attracts a large crowd. We are delighted to welcome him to our stage in Streete for one night only. So please tell your friends and come along for a great night of country and social dance music on Thursday 18th of December. Raffle door prizes and lots more all for only €10
Yoga Classes
Class every Wednesday morning by professional mentor Catherine Pacini 9 Am till 10, If you haven’t been to her classes maybe now is a good time to join. Call in for details.
Pickleball
Pickleball, is on every Monday mornings and is doing very well, why not come along and take part in this easy to play game in great company. 9.30 till 10.30 Am.
