Streete Notes

Parish Park Community Centre: We are delighted to say that phase 1 of our energy upgrade of solar panel installation, at the community centre has now been completed and is working extremely well producing 30 Kw’s of power daily, the power being generated is fed into the national grid and will return to us as an energy credit, delivering savings on energy costs which have been quite crippling in recent years. This overall will bring a hugh benefit to our Community Centre for years to come. I am working on phase 2 at present. The next bank of solar panels will save power into battery packs which in turn will reduce our energy costs even more. This government backed project while addressing the theme of solar energy is one step ahead of addressing community energy upgrades and environmental changes required in the coming years. If you have any questions on how you can benefit from energy upgrades, please call Kevin 087 1375222

Parish Park Development: On behalf of the committee, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended our development meeting last Thursday night. The event, hosted by our architects from More Architecture Ltd and chaired by Pat Davitt, former CEO of IPAV, was a significant step in our journey towards enhancing our Parish Park. This open and transparent public consultation provided an invaluable opportunity for clubs, contributors, and all users of our facilities to voice their opinions and share their insights. We were pleased to hear a variety of interesting questions, which have been documented in our feasibility study. The overall feedback indicates a strong community interest in the project and its potential benefits. We recognise that this development may take several years to complete, and changes may evolve along the way. However, this initiative represents a shared vision and a roadmap that will guide us in securing future funding to enhance our community center, its sports field, and parkland for generations to come. For those who could not attend we invite you to view the preliminary plan available on our website at streeteanddistrict.ie. Your feedback is important to us, so please take a moment to review the plan and feel free to leave your comments. All submissions must be received by July 24th. Following this date, we will hold a final open consultation evening at our community centre with our architects, where the final plans will be presented for public viewing. Afterward, we will submit the plans and application to Westmeath County Council. If you have any questions or would like to discuss the project further, please do not hesitate to call me at 087 1375222.
