Oskars re visited: This Saturday coming January 18th: A huge interest has gathered with great enthusiasm from young and a little older for our Oskars revisited this coming Saturday night with doors opening at 8.15. This is a free event, but donations are welcome, proceeds of Reffell will go towards our development fund. We ask that everyone is seated by 9 Pm as the lights will go out on cue. This magnificent screening of the seven movies made during the summer of 2024 and show cased in the Longford Arm’s in October last, will allow anyone who could not make it on the night a chance to see the unbridled talent that exists in our parish and surrounding area. If you haven’t got your ticket by now, I suggest you call Aine 085 7245836 or Kevin 087 1375222 ASAP. Tickets are limited. A break for refreshments during half time with shop open for snacks. Children are welcome but parental control is asked for the comfort of others. We would be grateful if you can support us in our raffle by bringing along a spot prize.

Deepest Sympathies: On behalf of the Committee of Streete Parish Park Vintage Club. We kindly pass on our sincere condolences to the Bracken Family, Ballycumber, Offaly and Moate Westmeath. We are deeply saddened on hearing the sad news of your Son David’s untimely and tragic passing. Our thoughts are with you and your family at this darkest hour. The Bracken, family are well known in the car and truck sales, as well as the scrap vehicle business where some of our members have sourced vintage parts for many years. May his gentle soul rest in heavenly peace.

Parish Park Walking Track Membership Update: Membership has been held back at a very nominal rate for many years. It was decided at an AGM in 2023 that the cost should rise. At a recent Committee meeting we concurred that the rate suggested at the AGM was a little high, a new rate has been agreed by the committee and membership will rise by €10 Single membership to €30, and a family to €50. I’m sure you will agree this is a very small charge for such a valuable amenity, we are also aware despite signage and your best efforts to keep our walking track free of dog litter. Some people ignore and continue to disrespect our grounds. To counter act this and improve safety and security we are looking at members access control system which will prohibit access to nonmembers. New membership application forms can be found in the box at the entrance gate of the walking track or by calling into the staff Monday to Fridays from 10 am until 2 pm. or call Kevin 087 1375222. All cheques made payable to Streete Parish Park.
